IT PROJECTS
What is an IT project?

IT projects refer to initiatives related to the development, procurement or implementation of information systems, software or technology services. They may involve, for example, software development, cloud services, SaaS solutions or larger digital transformation programmes and their deployment into production.

Typically, an IT project agreement defines the project scope, timelines, change management processes and responsibilities. Modern project delivery is flexible and agile, where development is carried out using iterative methods. Traditional waterfall-model projects are still used as well. At Folks, we master both delivery models.

Why are IT contracts important?

IT projects often involve complex responsibilities, timelines and technical interfaces. Delays or failures typically have significant impacts on the customer’s business. For the supplier, delays and failures may also lead to major financial losses and reputational damage. Clear contracts ensure that both parties understand their obligations and that project risks are properly managed. A well-drafted agreement also helps resolve disputes quickly and proactively.

How do we help with IT projects?

We draft and negotiate all agreements needed for IT projects – from development, delivery, service and licence agreements to the implementation of continuous services. We support clients in project planning and management to ensure technology initiatives progress on schedule and in line with objectives. We represent both suppliers and buyers, and we frequently support suppliers in public procurement processes. Our services also include training related to IT project contracting.
